25 | On March 4, 2020, at 08:00 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Michelle PalacioGloria gonzalez conducted an unannounced Required - 1 Year Inspection and met with the Licensee, Susie Armstrong and Assistant Ashley Armstrong. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Six (6) children and two (2) staff were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a one story, 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for childcare are: living room, kitchen, and hallway bathroom and back yard. off limits areas are two extra rooms , grand daughters play room and master bedroom with corresponding restroom and are inaccessible through use of door knob covers.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements and are located in the hallway. All hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fully fenced backyard available for outdoor activities. All pools, spas, hot tubs, fish ponds, or similar bodies of water are made inaccessible to children by fencing as required by regulation. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 04/2022. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee completed Mandated Reporter Training. 6 of 6 children’s records were reviewed and contain immunization documentation and Notification of Parent’s Rights form. During inspection licensee was registered to receive quarterly update from Child Care Licensing Department. Licensee was also advised the status of their annual dues. |
