25 | On 3/28/23, at 9:48am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Martha Malane conducted an unannounced annual inspection and met with Licensee, Jennifer Lopez. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility. There were no children in care. This facility is a two- story, four (4) bedroom, three (3) bathroom house. The following areas are used for childcare: living room, dining room, family room, kitchen, bedroom 1 and bathroom 1. Off limit areas include: the entire upstairs and garage which are made inaccessible through the use of doorknob covers and safety gates. Hours of operation are Monday – Friday 7:30am – 5:30pm.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. LPA observed hazardous items inaccessible to children in care. LPA informed licensee poisons shall be placed in a storage area and locked. LPA observed toys, play equipment and materials available for the children’s use. The home has a fence backyard available for outdoor activities. LPA informed licensee children shall be supervised during outdoor activities. Licensee stated there are no bodies of water on the premises. Licensee stated there are no weapons or ammunition on the property. A review of staff records on this date indicates all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications are valid and expire 5/24. Licensee has required immunizations, per file review. Licensee’s Mandated Reporter Training expires 12/23. The facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented 2/10/23. Licensee is not caring for infant children at this time.
