25 | On April 10, 2023, at 3:00PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Luigi Gargaro, conducted an unannounced annual required inspection and met with the licensee, Jessica Castaneda-Aguirre. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. No children and just the licensee were present in the facility during this inspection as the children the licensee primarily cares for were out due to spring break. Though no children were present today, the provider allowed analyst in the home to conduct the inspection visit.
This facility is a one floor, four bedroom, two bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for child care are: the kitchen, the dining area, the living room, the family room, the day care room, the play room (the third bedroom) and the day care bathroom. The primary day care areas are the living room and play room but the other rooms were inspected and safely child proofed and may be used at the licensee's discretion. Off limits areas are the first (by the day care play area), the second and master bedroom with the inclusive master bath. They are made inaccessible to day care children through the use of door locks.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. All hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities. All pools, spas, hot tubs, fish ponds, or similar bodies of water are made inaccessible to children by covering or fencing as required by regulation as since last inspection licensee has had in an ground pool installed in her backyard. The pool is made inaccessible to children by secured mesh fencing that meets required regulations. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions.
Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expired on November 2022. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee last completed Mandated Reporter Training in 2020. Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented in 2021. |
