25 | On 2/9/23, at 11:10 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Vicky Williamson conducted an unannounced annual required inspection. LPA met with Licensee Claudia Gomez and assistant Anahie Gomez who aided as a translator due to licensee's primary language is Spanish. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the licensee. There were one (1) child in care (age 2 years) during the time of inspection.
The indoor and outdoor areas were toured and inspected. The following areas are used for childcare: family room, bathroom #3 and fully fenced backyard. The following areas are off limits: all three (3) bedrooms, bathroom #1 and #2, kitchen, dining room, living room, laundry room and front yard. They are made inaccessible through a doorknob cover and locks. The facility operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector meet requirements. Cleaning compounds, detergents, and medications were inaccessible to children during the inspection. No bodies of water were observed on the premises. Licensee confirmed there are no bodies of water on the premises. Licensee stated there are no firearms or weapons in the home.
A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
