25 | On February 16, 2024, at 12:45 p.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Gloria Gonzalez conducted an unannounced Required 3-year Inspection and met with Licensee, Silvia Sanchez. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Four (4) daycare children and one (1) staff member was present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a one story, 3 bedroom, 4 bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. Licensee submitted required document to update and add bedroom #1 and bathroom #1 for daycare use. LPA inspected areas and are ready for use as of today. The following areas used for child care are: TV room #1 and #2, living room, kitchen, dining room, bathroom #1 and #3, bedroom #1, and backyard. Off limits areas are bedroom #2, master bedroom, master bathroom, bathroom 2, garage, and studio, and are inaccessible through use of door knob covers. Hours of operation are: Monday to Sunday 3:30 am to 9:00 pm.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Not all hazardous items were made inaccessible to children during the inspection. Licensee had scissors and knives accessible to daycare children at the time of this inspection. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities at time of inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances. Staff #1 did not have a negative TB test at the facility at the time of this inspection.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
