25 | On March 2, 2023, at 1:35 p.m., Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Gloria Gonzalez and Claudia Amador conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Licensee, Imelda Rodriguez. LPAs disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Three (3) daycare children and no staff members were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a two story, 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPAs inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for child care are: daycare room (next to garage), bathroom #1, backyard, and bedroom #1. Off limits areas are bedrooms #2-#5, bathrooms #2-#3, living room, tv room, dining room, 2nd dining room, kitchen, and garage and are inaccessible through use of a safety gate and door knob covers. Hours of operation are: Monday-Friday from 6:00 am-6:00 pm.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Hazardous items were made inaccessible to children during the inspection. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities at time of inspection. No bodies of water observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
First Aid and CPR certification for Imelda expires on 12/2023 and Dania did not have an EMSA approved First Aid and CPR certification. Licensee has required immunizations. Mandated Reporter Training for Imelda was completed on 8/20/22 and for Dania on 2/23/2021. Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 9/16/22. |
