On December 15, 2021, at 12:30 p.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Gloria Gonzalez conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Helper, Faviola Valdez.  LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by Valdez.  Licensee, Veronica Acevedo arrived on or about 12:45 PM and assisted LPA with the rest of the tour. Two (2) daycare children and One (1) staff were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a one story, four bedroom, 5 bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for child care are: studio/daycare room, daycare bathroom, and the front yard.  Off limits areas are the rest of the house which is 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and backyard and are inaccessible through use of door knob covers and door locks. Hours of operation are: Monday through Saturday from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements.  Hazardous items were made inaccessible to children during the inspection.  The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available.  The home has a fenced front yard available for outdoor activities at time of inspection. The inground pool is surrounded by a fence, with self-latching, self-closing gate that swings away from the pool and meets Title 22 requirements and is made inaccessible to children.  LPA observed locked storage area for firearms and other dangerous weapons.  A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions, remove if none.  Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home.  A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 1/2022.  Licensee has required immunizations.  Licensee completed Mandated Reporter Training on 3/11/20.  Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed.  The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 11/4/21.
