25 | On March 18, 2021, at 1:00 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gloria Gonzalez conducted a case management inspection for the purpose of an increase in capacity via video conference by whats app, due to the Covid-19 state of emergency with Licensee, Claudia Arguelles. LPA conducted a live video tour of the inside and outside of the facility. One child and Licensee were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a one story, 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house. The following areas used for childcare are: Living room, kitchen, hall bathroom, and backyard. Off limits areas are master bedroom, master bathroom, bedroom 2, 3, and garage and are inaccessible through use of door knob covers. Facility hours of operation are from Monday - Sunday from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available for children’s use. The home has a backyard available for outdoor activities. Licensee stated there are no bodies of water on the premises. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearance. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee has completed the Mandated Reporter Training AB 1207on 2/4/21. 2 of 4 children’s records were reviewed. First Aid and CPR certification for Licensee expires on 8/2022.
The fire clearance for 14 children was granted on 3/3/21. LPA provided and discussed the following: Report suspected child abuse and neglect, maintain children’s records according to regulation, post all required forms, and ensure that all adults residing or working in the home have criminal background clearances or exemptions. Licensee was reminded that corporal punishment, smoking, exersaucers, bouncy seats, walkers, and jumpers and/or similar equipment are not allowed in daycare. Licensee was also provided handouts with information regarding upcoming Safe Sleep Regulations/SIDS, Lead exposure and Shaken Baby Syndrome.
