25 | On July 11, 2023 at 1:55 PM , Licensing Program Analysts (LPA), Edgar Campana and Thien Dinh conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Licensee, Diana Tirado. LPAs disclosed the purpose of the inspection and were granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. There were five (5) children present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a one story, three (3) bedroom, two (2) bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for child care are: bedroom 1, kitchen, living room, bathroom 1, and backyard. Off limits areas are bedroom 2 and 3, laundry room, and garage and are inaccessible through use of door knob cover and baby gate.
The fire extinguisher (rated 2A-10- BC) smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detectors met requirements. During inspection of the backyard, LPAs observed a damaged metal shed with sharp edges exposed, which is a potential hazard to children in care - deficiency cited. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 1/2025. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee's Mandated Reporter Training certificate expires on 8/2023. Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted in 2/7/2023.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. |
