25 | On September 30, 2021 at 9:40 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jo Ann Legaspi conducted a capacity increase inspection. Licensee Tammy Tapiz was advised of the meeting’s purpose and she granted LPA facility entry. The inspection’s purpose is to ensure that the home follows standards established in CCR, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, for Family Child Care Homes. Present in the home was the Licensee, two (2) infants, one (1) toddler, one (1) school aged child and one helper. One child in care was the Licensee's own child. This four (4) bedroom, three (3) bathroom house was toured and inspected. The daycare operational schedule is weekdays 6 AM to 6 PM.
On 09/07/2021, Licensee submitted an application (LIC 279) requesting a capacity increase. The Fire Safety Inspection Request (STD 850) was approved by the local fire marshal on 09/14/2021 for fourteen (14) children. Landlord consent is on file.
The off limits areas are the bedrooms and two (2) bathrooms. These rooms are made inaccessible to daycare children with safety gates. The following rooms are used for care: living room, kitchen, dining room, one (1) bedroom and one (1) bathroom. Cabinet sliding locks are on the kitchen cabinet doors.
Licensee accompanied LPA on a tour of the home, as shown on the updated facility sketch. Background criminal record clearances were verified and discussed. First Aid and CPR certifications expire in May 2023. Facility has a working 2A10BC fire extinguisher, smoke alarms, and carbon monoxide detector. The last safety drill was on 09/16/2021. Licensee states there are no bodies of water on the premises and none were observed. Per the Licensee, neither weapons nor ammunition are stored on the facility premises.
