25 | On 4.28.23, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kris Diaz conducted an unannounced Annual inspection. LPA met with Licensee, Cynthia Wahrenbrock who guided LPA on a tour of the home. People who reside in the home are the licensee and her spouse, Andrew Wahrenbrock who have fingerprint clearance and TB skin tests. The licensee has the required immunizations against pertussis (TDAP), measles (MMR) and flu. 3 adults and 10 childcare children were present. Licensee’s friend was visiting. Per the licensee, the large family childcare home operates Mon-Fri 7am-5:30pm. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) were discussed. Per the licensee, she does not have children who need IMS at this time.
This is a one-story family home. The home consists of two bedrooms, two bathrooms, dining room, living room, kitchen, laundry area, guesthouse/room, garage and backyard. The primary care for children is conducted in the living room, kitchen, and dining room. Children have access to the bathroom in the hallway near the bedrooms. Per licensee, children are 100% supervised. LPA observed a covered fireplace in the living room that is made inaccessible to children with a screen. LPA observed knives in a drawer in the kitchen. The drawer is made inaccessible with a safety latch. Per licensee, medications are kept in a cabinet above the refrigerator. LPA observed curtain strings tied and inaccessible to children. The living has a television on the wall with the cords secured and inaccessible to children.
The off-limit areas of the home include the bedrooms, the guest room/house with an attached garage, and a concrete area that is made inaccessible with a gate. The backyard has a splash pad with water. Per licensee, 100% supervision is provided while in the backyard area. LPA observed a few toys for children play time.
The home was inspected inside for comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation. Cleaning compounds are stored under the kitchen sink inaccessible to children.
The First Aid kit is located in the hallway inaccessible to children. Per licensee, there are no weapons or firearms in the home.
