Emergency Disaster drills on a monthly basis, and the drills are documented. Per Director an updated physical plan sketch/fire escape will be provided to CCL.
Posted on a prominent place is the is the parent board containing all the required forms posted and is accessible to parents. It contains the license; CCL Hotline complaint information; Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC 610A), Earthquake Preparedness Checklist, LIC 9148; Fire Evacuation plan and the physical/floor plans (sketch); Parents Rights, PUB 393; Personal Rights, LIC 613A; Sign in/out sheets/log; Food Menu; Seat Belt Law.
The indoor and outdoor activity space for the children is adequate. All furniture, equipment, toys, and other required items are safe, age appropriate and in good repair; there is adequate heat/lightning and ventilation for the comfort and safety of the children; drinking water is available; there is a designated appropriate area for personal belongings. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons, first aid kit and other items that may create a hazard to children are inaccessible to children. There were two classrooms that on one of their storage cabinets that contained medication and other items that may be of hazard to children were unlocked and accessible to children (storage cabinets were immediately locked) Also there were three storage cabinet doors with broken hinges (work order present) There is telephone service. Heating, lighting, water temperature and ventilation are appropriate.
Trash cans with tight lids were observed. The center provides meals; Breakfast, lunch and snack is provided. The LPM and LPA observed several food items that had passed its "best use by date" and other items that were not properly labeled with day of opening and date of use by. LPA and LPM remind the Director to ensure food personnel properly labeled, stored, and indicate expiration date in all food products.
According to the Director, the center participants in a Food Nutrition Program. Overall Food operation and management is properly done. Refrigerators are clean and operating at the proper temperature. There is hot and cold running water in the kitchen/food preparation area. Food preparation area is adequately equipped, clean, and free from hazards.
