25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPA's ) Smith and Thompson-Miller met with Supervisor of School Instruction, Angelica Salinas, today for the purpose of conducting a Case Management Change of Capacity (increase) inspection for the Preschool program. LPA's toured and inspected areas according to the facility sketch. The center serves ages three to five years. The center currently has 2 classrooms (R3 and R4). Fire clearance granted for a total of 48 children.
Hours of operation are: Monday through Friday, operating two sessions: Morning 7:55am- 10:55am, Afternoon session: 11:30am to 2:30pm.
**Measurements were taken according to the facility sketch.
Room R4 currently licensed for 24 children
Room R3 measured 39.05 x 23.00 = 898.15 / 35 = 25.66
- minus incumbent space: 20.48 + 8.2 + 8.2 = 36.88
- 898.15 minus 36.88 = 861.27 / 35 = 24.60
There are four toilets, two urinals and four sinks = 60 children (changing table in boys bathroom with two urinals, two sinks, one toilet, girls restroom have three toilets and two sinks). There are two outside drinking fountains available outside of the restrooms.
Outside Play Area 160 x 82 = 13120 13120/75 = 175 children
With the above measurements, center can accommodate a total of 48 children, utilizing classrooms R3 and R4. There is a waiver for the playground area.
**LPA observed age appropriate furniture, equipment, toys and materials. Telephone service was verified as well as adequate heating, lighting, and ventilation. Children's belongings will be kept in cubbies along the wall as you enter classrooms. Drinking water is available inside the classroom in the form of a water coolers. |
