On 07/06/2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Beneroso met with Lead Teacher, Ms. Bautista for the purpose of conducting an unannounced annual required inspection. During the time of this inspection LPA observed a total of 4 children and 2 qualified teachers providing care and supervision. The preschool program operates Monday 5:00am – Friday 5:00PM. LPA toured and inspected the facility inside and out in accordance with the facility sketch.

There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. No poisons were observed during the inspection.

Furniture and equipment
Facility only operates in one classroom. LPA observed cubbies in which children’s belongings can be stored. LPA observed that chemicals are kept out of the reach of children. LPA observed cots for napping in the classroom. Telephone service was verified. Heating, lighting, and ventilation are adequate.

There is a clean, fully equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, freezer and stove. The facility provides breakfast, lunch and PM Snack. Menus are posted in near the main entrance for parents to review. LPA observed an appropriate amount of food and snacks.

Teacher child ratios were observed, and staff names recorded. Care and supervision was evaluated to determine the basic needs of children are being met and appropriate. Sign in and out sheets were reviewed. The parent board was reviewed and has all of the required forms posted. Fire/earthquake drills are maintained current, last fire drill was conducted 06/06/2023. Children's records and staff records were reviewed and are complete. LPA verified at least one staff person present that has a current Pediatric CPR and First Aid training expires on 9/12/2023

Napping Equipment
LPA observed a sufficient quantity of napping equipment for the children, cots are provided and are properly stored when not in used. Linens and bedding are washed weekly.

Medications:
This facility does not provide incidental medical services for children. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Per Ms. Bautista, the facility conducts health checks in the morning.

Children's bathroom: Children use the bathroom inside the classroom. The bathroom was clean, sanitized, and in good repair. The bathroom was toured and inspected sink and toilet which are in operable condition. Toilets and faucets are clean, safe, and operable.

There is a separate area for isolation and care of ill children in the director’s office.

The facility was cited one Type B Violation during inspection. The violation was corrected during inspection.

A notice of site visit was given to Ms. Bautista and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Ms. Bautista, along with her appeal rights and Notice of Site Visit.
