25 | On February 27, 2020, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Theresa Marquez, conducted an unannounced Required inspection and was met by Licensee, Lucia Garcia. Also present was Assistant Maria Sotelo. Licensee is primarily Spanish speaking. LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. Licensee has a working telephone and the above telephone number was verified.
Postings such as Emergency Disaster Plan, Earthquake preparedness checklist, facility license and Notification of Parents Rights poster are posted on front entrance wall and the living room wall.
Current facility sketch reviewed, and Licensee confirmed that the living room, an adjacent bathroom, the formal dining area and the dining area near the kitchen, are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of safety gates. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. There are no stairs in this home. The fireplace located in the formal dining area is made inaccessible and will not be in use during day-care hours. There is working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
Cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. No poisons were observed during inspection.
The outdoor play area in the backyard is fenced. There are no swimming pools or other bodies of water on the premises. Licensee has two dogs that are inaccessible to children. Licensee understands the liability and safety of children around pets and accepts responsibility.
Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. Licensee’s pediatric CPR/First Aid expires on 3/4/2020. Mandated Reported Training was completed on 3/13/2018. An emergency fire/disaster drill has been completed within the last 6 months.
Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 5:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
