25 | On 05/19/2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Pete Espinoza conducted an unannounced case management inspection and met with Janae Hansen-Grounds, Director. LPA explained the reason of the inspection and a tour of the center was conducted both inside and outside. Licensee is requesting a decrease of capacity from 31 to 30 School-age children. The center is located on the at 10200 Campus Park Dr. in Bakersfield 93311. This program operates Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 during summer break from traditional school year (June - August) and Monday - Friday, 1:20 PM - 6:00 PM (September - May) . This the School-age program operates in Classroom A and Classroom B/C. Ill children will be isolated in the office and will use the bathroom located there.
The classrooms were observed to be clean and free of toxins. LPA observed that the furniture and equipment appeared to be safe and in good condition. LPA observed a working carbon monoxide detector inside each classroom. Materials and equipment appear to be age appropriate.
Room measurements were taken and reviewed with Director. The total inside preschool area measured to an approximate 1.298 square feet which will accommodate the requested capacity of 30 School-age children. There is adequate storage space available for children's belongings in each classroom. There are enough tables and chairs to accommodate the requested capacity.
There are a total of two (2) toilets and (2) handwashing sinks in separate restroom (boys/girls) which will accommodate the requested capacity. Water is provided from drinking fountain in hallway. Outdoor measurements were not taken on this date, as the outdoor activity space is adequate enough to accommodate the requested capacity.
This facility plans to provide Incidental Medical Services – IMS. For IMS information, see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226.
