25 | A prelicensing visit was conducted on this date by LPA's Pete Espinoza and Angelica Mejia, who met with Preschool Director Rosalva Banuelos, Site Supervisor. The licensee is requesting an increase of capacity from 89 to 113 preschool children The center is located on the campus of Orangewood Elementary School in classrooms #1, 2, 3, 4, 25, 26 & 27. This program will operate year round, daily from 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Breakfast, lunch, will be prepared in the school cafeteria on site and delivered to the classrooms. Ill children and staff will utilize the bathroom located in the office. Room measurements taken and reviewed with Rosalva Banuelos. Approximate total square footage of classrooms is 5,282, which will accommodate the requested capacity of 113. There are 12 toilet and 12 hand washing sinks in the classrooms, which will accommodate the requested capacity. Toys and equipment are age appropriate. Outdoor measurements taken on this date total approximately 6,625. Licensee will submit a request for waiver that includes schedule indicating outside play area use by classroom to ensure that no more than 88 children are in the play area at any one time during the day. Adequate shade available in the outdoor activity area. The applicant is using wood chips for cushioning under the outdoor climbing structure. A drinking fountain is located in the playground.
The fire clearance has been received and approved for 113 ambulatory children.
Criminal record clearance records are completed as condition for employment and maintained by the Edison Elementary School District.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Pending a final file review and completion of above items, a recommendation will be made to license the above facility for a capacity of 113 preschool children. |
