25 | An unannounced annual random inspection was conducted by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gloria Reyes. LPA met with Site Supervisor, Rosalva Banuelos. The center is located on the campus of Orangewood Elementary School in classrooms #1, 2, 3, 4, 25, 26 & 27. This program will operate year round, daily from 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM. There are no bodies of water. Firearms/weapons are not allowed or stored on premises. All children are under supervision, including visual supervision, of a teacher at all times. The Department has inspection authority. There is a ratio of one teacher supervising no more than 12 children in attendance. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other dangerous items are inaccessible to children. Storage areas for poisons are locked. All materials and surfaces accessible to children are toxic free. Medications are in a safe place inaccessible to children. All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating conditions. All floors are clean and safe. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Meals are prepared by Central Kitchen at Orangewood Elementary School. Food is transported via insulator containers and served in the classrooms. All kitchen, food prep, and storage areas are clean, free of litter, rubbish, and rodents/vermin. All food is protected from contamination, and contaminated food is discarded immediately. Solid waste storage vessels, including moveable bins, have tight-fitting covers on, are in good repair. Uncontaminated drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. All foods/beverages capable of rapid spoiling are stored in covered containers at 45 (F) or less. Menus are posted at least one week in advance, where an authorized representative can view them, are dated and kept on file for 30 days, and are available on request. Facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detector that meet statutory requirements. Licensee has been granted an Outside Activity Area Waiver to share the outdoor activity space with the Kindergarten classes at Edison Elementary School. Currently, the preschool play yard is being used by the preschool children only. All classes using the playground will have a separate time for playground use, will not commingle with the kindergarten children and no more than 88 children will be present in the outside play area at one time. Playground equipment is in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Outdoor activity space surface is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. (see next page) |
