25 | On 7/22/22, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Gloria Reyes and Ruby Ocegueda conducted an unannounced case management inspection. LPAs met with Director Yuliana Casas who toured the facility inside and outside with LPAs. A census was obtained. The purpose of the inspection was to inspect the new slide structure and the new foam pad that was installed in the outdoor play area for the infant program. The foam cover cushioning absorb falls, is beneath the entire structure. Manufacturer specifications state the new play structure is suitable for children ages 2-5 years old. Outdoor activity space surface is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. Moveable play equipment is in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. LPAs reminded Director to ensure that manufacturer’s instructions are always followed at all times when using the play structure and to discuss with staff best practices for maintaining visual supervision when children are playing outdoors.
The permanently cemented slide structure that is labeled for ages 2-5 years will not be used by the 1 year olds. A baby gate will be in place surrounding the slide while the 1 year olds are outside. Director understands that this baby gate must be in place each time the 1 year olds are outside.
Per California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, no deficiencies cited during today's visit.
An exit interview was conducted with Director Nancy Ortiz and a copy of this report was provided and discussed. A Notice of Site Visit Form (LIC 9213) was posted on parent's board and must remain posted for 30 days. |
