25 | On this date, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jessika Thompson met with Director Jeanette Wiley for an unannounced case management inspection. LPA toured the facility and a census was taken. An Unusual Incident Report was recently submitted to the Fresno Community Care Licensing Office (CCL) regarding an incident that occurred on February 27, 2019, where a day-care child (Child #1) tried to leave the premises. The purpose of this inspection was to investigate the aforementioned occurrence. Today, LPA spoke with Director Wiley, who was present when the incident transpired. Director Wiley stated that the Child #1 was upset for personal reasons when she ran out of the front door of the facility. According to Director Wiley, herself and three additional staff members immediately followed the child out of the entry door, and proceeded attempting to calm the child down by using words of reassurance. Director Wiley stated that after about 20 minutes, the child came back inside with staff, who then blocked the door so that the child could not elope again. In addition, the child's mother was notified.
Director Wiley stated that the child is still in care and is doing well. As per Director Wiley, there has not been any subsequent unusual incidents involving Child #1, or any day-care child attempting to elope.
This appears to be an isolated incident and staff took appropriate measures to address occurrence, following appropriate Agency policies and reporting procedures.
Per California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, no deficiency was cited during today's visit.
An exit interview conducted with Director Wiley and a copy of this report was provided and discussed.
A Notice of Site Visit Form was posted on parent's board and must remain posted for 30 days.
