25 | On 01/07/2021 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Rene Mancinas conducted a virtual tele-inspection via video conferencing. LPA met with Perla Banos. The reason for the inspection was to inspect a new room addition at the facility that will be utilized for day care purposes.
The new room addition is separate from the main house. Building permits and fire clearances were reviewed. Licensee stated the new space will be primarily used for day care services. The new room addition has a restroom located inside, an infant area, and several activity areas. There is a refrigerator and an kitchen style sink with counter tops, however no stove or meal heating appliances. Licensee stated she will continue to prep meals/snacks in the main kitchen inside the home, but children will consume the meals/snacks inside the new room addition. Licensee will ensure supervision requirements are met while she preps meals/snacks in the main house. Carbon monoxide and fire alarms were tested and in good working order. Fire extinguisher meeting licensing requirements is readily accessible in the new room addition. Safe toys, furniture, and play equipment were observed. Licensee stated the only areas that will be accessible to day care children in the main house are the kitchen area and dining room areas.
Licensee stated the previous backyard area will no longer be used by day care children. Children will now have access to a play area that is located on the side of the house, which leads to new room addition. Parents will drop off/pick up children through a side gate, that is equipped with a secure lock located near the top of the gate, out of reach of children, to ensure children cannot open/close the gate.
The new room addition and new play area is deemed safe and available for day care use beginning 01/08/2021.
Per California Code of Regulations Title 22 Division 12 Chapter 3, no deficiency is being cited. Notice of Site Inspection to be posted for 30 days. |
