25 | On 12/09/2025 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Denisia Jimenez conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and was met by licensee Maria Renteria. Also present was licensee’s husband/assistant. Licensee is Spanish and English Speaking. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 6:30AM – 5PM.
LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. LPA reviewed current facility sketch and confirmed that the kitchen, dining area, living room, nook, family room, day care room, and hallway bathroom are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of child proof safety gates.
There is a built-in swimming pool in the backyard which is fenced and made inaccessible. The pool gate is self-latching, self-closing and opens away from the swimming pool. No windows or doors have direct access to the pool area. The licensee has a life ring available, but it is not Coast Guard approved. During the inspection, the licensee placed an order for an approved life ring. All other AB 288 Pool Safety Act requirements have been met.
There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
There is one fireplace in the home located in the living room and is made inaccessible by a screen and will not be in use during daycare hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
This is a two-story home, and stairs are gated when children under age 5 years old are present. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number.
