25 | On 1/19/2022 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ruby Ocegueda conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection for the preschool license. LPA met with Head Teacher Nicole Carbalho and toured the facility indoors and outdoors. A Covid-19 safety screening was conducted at arrival. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM -11:30 AM and 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM.
There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. No poisons were observed during the inspection.
Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Playground equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space was inspected. There was an area below the AC unit that was outside that was observed to have a small drip which caused the dirt to become muddy. Also observed outside, there was a wood panel at the bottom of the building that was beginning to rot in several areas. Head Teacher Carbalho indicated that they had just installed a new play ground yesterday. Today, the children had not used it yet. The play ground was made by Kaplan Playgrounds for ages 2-5 years and was inspected. LPA observed that it was safe, sturdy and in good repair. LPA advised that for future reference it was best practice to inform the department of such new equipment before purchase and installation. All toilets and handwashing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. Floors in the facility are clean and safe. All kitchen, food preparation and storage areas are clean, free of litter/rubbish and free of rodents/vermin. All food is protected against contamination and any contaminated food is discarded immediately. The AM class is served breakfast and lunch. The PM class is served lunch and a snack. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. Staff use gloves to serve water from an igloo jug onto paper cups as the child requests. Report continued to 809-C.
