25 | On 07/14/2020, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Juvenal Moctezuma and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Michael Duarte conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection and met with Director, Rebecca Hartig. LPA explained the reason of the inspection and a tour of the center was conducted both inside and outside. The center is located on the premises of Kings Christian School at 900 East D Street in Lemoore CA. The licensee is requesting an increase of capacity from 30 to 45 preschool children. This program will operate during a traditional school year from Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. This program will operate in two classrooms labeled #1 and #2. This facility provides morning and afternoon snacks. Children bring their own lunch. Parents are called if parents forget to bring their child's lunch, or licensee will provide lunch when unable to contact parent. Ill children will be isolated in the office.
Room measurements taken and reviewed with Rebecca. The total area for the preschool classrooms were measured and total 2,169 square feet which will accommodate the requested capacity. There is adequate storage space available for children's belongings. Outdoor storage is available for toys and equipment. Toys and equipment are age appropriate. There is a total of 3 toilets and 7 sinks/hand washing fixtures which will accommodate the requested capacity. There will be two water dispensers for children to drink water in both classrooms.
The approximate outside square footage is 11,382, which will accommodate the requested capacity of 45 preschool children. Currently, licensee is utilizing an igloo with disposable cups for children when playing outside. The preschoolers will share the yard with the kindergarten children. Separation will be done through separate recess times. Rebecca will submit a new waiver request since there were a few changes done to the playground- fenced removed. Shade is provided by a permanent shade structure and mature trees.
A fire clearance for 45 children was received from the Kings County Fire Department on 06/24/2020.
