25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Glenn Ouye met with Applicant/Director Yvonne Quintero and teacher Julie Passantino. to conduct a prelicensing inspection of the preschool program. The facility has an infant program but it is not ready to open but will be very soon. The facility hours will be 7:00am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. The applicant is aware that all staff are required to have criminal background clearance and association to the facility license. Failure to do so will result in a civil penalty.
The facility has three classrooms. There is sufficient indoor and outdoor activity space for the children in care. The facility has two sinks and two toilets for the preschool children. There is sufficient toys and equipment for the children. The smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were testing and functional. There are two fire extinguishers rated at 3A40BC.
The sign in and sign out procedures were discussed.
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with the applicant and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed applicant of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
The outdoor activity area is fully fenced. It has a play structure with shade. There is soft pour surface under the play structure. Outdoor hydration for the children will be accomplished with the use of individual water bottles for the children.
Covid-19 mitigation procedures such as daily wellness check, temperature checks, hand washing, sanitization and masking were discussed.
