25 | A plan of correction inspection was conducted today by Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Chris Krogstad and Patricia Pacheco, as a follow-up to an inspection visit that was conducted on 4/25/19.
During the inspection on 4/25/19, LPAs observed observed the licensee's assistant (S1) smoking a cigarette on the walkway between the main home and garage and a nine month old infant (C1) asleep, stomach down, on a semi-circular "boppy" pillow. A Type A Personal Rights violation was issued for an infant sleeping in an unsafe manner and a Type A deficiency was issued for smoking on the premises.
During today's inspection, the home was toured and inspected. The licensee was supervising five children, to include her own child, a 9 month old infant and three preschool aged children. No children or infants were asleep. The licensee has a play yard with a tight fitted sheet available for the infant to nap in. The licensee stated she understood that infants shall be napped in a crib or play yard, free of any loose items, with only a tight fitted sheet and shall be placed on their back.
There was no one observed smoking in the home or on the premises and no evidence found of smoking. The licensee stated she is now having her assistant leave the property for her breaks.
Six of six children's files were reviewed at 9:47am. Acknowledgement of Receipt of Licensing Reports LIC 9224 were signed and in children's files. The deficiencies issues on 4/25/19 were cleared during today's inspection. This report, as well as the AAP Guide to Safe Sleep Practices brochure, were again reviewed and discussed with the licensee. All licensing reports are public information and must be made available upon request for at least three years.
Notice of Site Visit shall be posted for 30 days from today's visit.
