Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Justin Dorsey conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection. LPA met with Marjorie Golden, Director, who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. During the inspection no children were present due to summer break. Per Director the children will return to the facility 09/03/19. The facility provides a half day program that runs from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm and a full day program that runs from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm.

LPA inspected all areas identified on the Facility Sketch. The facility has two different buildings where care is provided. The first building is the Seniors Building (4-5 year olds) which consists of 3 classrooms, 2 restrooms, a snack room and a kitchen. Per Director the kitchen is off limits. During the visit the kitchens counter tops were being replaced and all the items from the kitchen were in a classroom in the Senior Building. The second building is the Juniors Building (2-4 year olds) which consists of 3 classrooms, 1 restroom and a snack room. Each building has their own play area, the facility has an additional play area above the Juniors Building playground. All play areas are fenced.

Students have access to the classroom, restrooms, snack rooms and the three outdoor play areas. Students of the program are signed in at the main entrance and escorted to their assigned classrooms by teachers aides. The facility does not provide transportation. Furniture and equipment are safe and in good repair. There is telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation available at the facility. The Directors office is used as the isolation area and the staff restroom has been designated for the use of ill children.

Per Director drinking water is available indoors and outdoors. Restrooms used were inspected for availability, good repair, water temperature, toilet paper, area safety and sanitation.

The kitchen, which the students don't have access to is in the Seniors Building next to the snack room. The facility provides snack, lunch is provided by parents. Students in the half day program receive am snack while students in the full day program receive am and pm snack. Containers used to discard food have tight fitting lid at this time. No snack menus were posted because children are on break. Per director snack menus are posted in the kitchen. Snacks were reviewed for availability, quantity and appropriateness to children in care. Poisons are locked in a cabinet. Cleaning compounds and sharp items are inaccessible.

The outdoor area include a sandy areas with a patio that provides shade. The extra play yard does not have a patio but trees on the yard provide adequate shade. A review of records was conducted for staff and participants, files are complete. LPA observed that staff have current First Aid and CPR (Expires 8/2019). Staff have met all immunization requirements. First Aid supplies are available. Disaster drills are documented and all posting requirements have been met.



This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. REMINDER: Failure to obtain a criminal record background check clearance prior to initial presence will result in an immediate $100.00 dollar or more.

LPA advised how to access forms, regulations and quarterly updates on line at: www.ccld.ca.gov. Also, discussed new requirements for providers, including mandate reporting training for staff which can be found at: http:/www.mandatedreporterca.com/training /training.htm. This is a new regulatory requirement beginning January 2018. According to staff, training has been completed through Community Care Licensing. Please review all elements outlined in AB 1207- Mandated Reporting Training.

No deficiencies were cited in accordance with California Code of Regulations Title 22. The
Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) – must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site visit by a licensing reprehensive. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a civil penalty of $100.00.
