25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Crystal Green conducted an announced case management inspection to evaluate the facility's request to add a toddler option program. Due to COVID- 19 precautionary measures were taken, individuals present during inspection wore appropriate personal protective equipment. Facility was observed to be adhering to local public health guidelines. Licensing staff met with Director, Patricia Chambers, who guided analysts on a tour of the facility. Licensee is requesting to decrease the preschool capacity and add a toddler option program. Licensee also has an infant license 191222458 and school age license 191223032 which are both licensed through the Department. This facility is located on a church property.
At 11:00 AM, Licensing staff was guided through a tour of the proposed toddler option classrooms, the designated outdoor area, and the existing preschool program. No alterations have been made to the exterior or interior of the facility. The facility is currently operating and LPA obtained census. This existing preschool program has a total of 7 Classrooms #101- #105 and #107 and #108. LPA observed classroom #103 and #107 to not be in use. The proposed toddler option classroom will be located in Classroom #101. LPA observed the toddler classroom area to be physically separate from the Preschool classrooms. LPA also observed 3 cribs and cots available from the toddlers. There is also a changing table located within arms reach of a sink. There is one toilet and one sink available inside the proposed toddler room. All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating conditions. LPA observed drinking water available via water cooler with disposable cups available in the classroom. There are age-appropriate toys available for children in care. Furniture and equipment were inspected for good repair, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. All materials and surfaces accessible to children are toxic free.
Licensing staff was guided through the proposed outdoor toddler space which they will used the playyard next to classroom 105. Per Director, There is a outdoor waiver on file for shared usage of the outdoor playyard. There is adequate shade in the outdoor play area. The outdoor play equipment was observed to be in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Outdoor activity space surface is maintained in a safe condition as is free of hazards.
