Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Maddox met with Director, Tammy Damon today regarding and Unusual Incident that occurred on 6/6/19. From information gathered, father of child#1 violated a court order by removing his child from the center on an un-scheduled day (per court order).

Director stated the following regarding the incident:

Parent #1 arrived at the facility on Thursday, 6/6/19 with his girlfriend and another child (unknown) to pick up child #1 (his daughter). Director stated she informed parent #1 that his daughter was present, however, she has written instructions from parent #2 that states he is allowed to pick her up on "Fridays at noon". Parent #1 stated "he didn't care", Director stated she told parent #1 that she was going to call the police, parent replied "do what you have to do, I'm taking her" and proceeded down the hall to his daughter's classroom. Once he arrived to her classroom, he told the teacher "give her to m I'm taking her". Parent then walked out of the center got into his car and pulled out of the driveway. As he was pulling out of the driveway, he was intercepted by the Sheriff. Director stated she called the mother of child #1 (parent #2) to come to the center immediately. Parent #2 arrived at the center in under 10 minutes with a copy of the court order and presented it to the Sheriff Officers and Director. Parent #1 was arrested but later released on the morning of 6/7/19.

On 6/7/19, Parent #1 returned to the center in the morning hours at approximately 9:30 am (this is relevant because Parent #1 is not authorized to take child from center until noon). Director stated she told parent #1 she had a court order that says he can take her at noon, parent #1 stated he would take her and wait in the front. He then proceeded to child #1's classroom and began talking the to teacher telling them how bad the Director is and how bad the center is. Director stated parent #1 then walked to the office and demanded a copy of child #1's sign in and out sheet and a copy of child #1's file. She then called parent #2 and informed her what parent #1 was demanding, Director states parent #2 said it was okay to give him a copy.

Out of concern for the safety of other children in care and staff present, LPA asked Director what her plan of action would be from this day forward regarding this particular family, Director stated as of today 6/7/19, child #1 will no longer attend, today was her last day.

Director gave LPA copies of the 2 UIR's, names of the Sheriff's Officers, and a copy of Missing person report filed.
