25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Nolan Tcheng conducted an unannounced random annual inspection. Upon arrival at 8:30am, LPA met with Director Emily Quintero. At 8:45am, LPA wasled on a tour of the facility. This is a Preschool Parent Co-Op program which consists of 5 classrooms. Per licensee, there are currently 105 enrolled in the program. Hours of operation for this facility are Monday-Friday 8:30-11:30am, Monday/Wednesday/Friday 11:30-2:30 extended care, and Tuesday/Thursday 12:30-3:30 extended care.
Licensing staff observed all required forms/publications to be posted in the office. At this time, parents bring their own snacks for their own child, no sharing and no communal snacks.
PHYSICAL PLANT: At 8:45am, LPAs entered and inspected the preschool area. At the time of inspection it there was a "Love Makes A Family" Day. Children were all outside on the play area with the staff and parents. There were 53 children and 10 staff members. Yellow and Red Room (3-5yrs), Blue Room (Pre-K), and Green Room (STEAM/Extended Care) were toured on the Upper Level, and Purple Room (2-3yrs) on the lower level. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other items that are dangerous to children, were inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. All floors are clean and safe. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins shall have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. Trash cans used to discard food have tight fitting lids. The facility was observed to be free of flies, other insects and rodents. Sufficient individual storage space for children was observed and each child has a cubby. Drinking water was readily available indoors. At this time, the office is used as an isolation area. A couch is available for an ill child to rest on. First Aid supplies are available and complete. Facility has a functioning carbon monoxide detector that meets statutory requirements. Director states there are no weapons, firearms, or bodies of water on the premises. This facility is half day program so there is no nap time. There are two bathrooms each, in between Yellow and Red Room, Bathroom in between Blue and Green, and a bathroom available in lower level for Purple room. All toilets, hand washing, and bathing facilities are safe, sanitary and are operating properly.
