32 | LPAs discussed the safe sleep regulations with teacher Farhadnejad and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPAs also informed teacher Farhadnejad of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
Medication: This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. Plan of Operation for Incidental Medical Services on file. During this inspection LPAs observed Child#3 Epi-Pen was expired on 09/2022. During this inspection teacher Farhadnejad contacted child#3 mother who stated child#3 still is in need to use Epi-Pen and she was notified by the school to bring a new Epi-Pen. Per child#3 mother she is going to bring a new Epi-Pen to school on Monday 09/18/23.
Analyst reviewed new Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, which requires the testing of water for lead in Child Care Centers (CCCs) with facility director during the inspection. Per AB 2370, all CCCs that are located in buildings constructed before January 1, 2010, must have their water tested and post the results by January 1, 2023, and every 5 years after the date of the first testing. LPA Eivazian talked to Director, Malisa Smith over the phone who stated they completed Water Lead Testing late in 2022 and will submit LIC 9275, LIC 9276, and labeled facility sketch to LPA by 10/16/23.
