32 | Prescription and non-prescription medication is administered by the director, who documents the date, time and dosage onto a log. Medications are stored securely and inaccessible to children in the director's office which has a refrigerator if needed.
LPAs observed three fire extinguishers (3A 40BC) located throughout the facility with service date of 02/22/2023. First Aid Kit was observed to be complete. Fire Drill log was observed to be complete and current. LPAs observed the following required postings: License, PUB 393 Notification of Parent’s Rights, LIC 610 Emergency Disaster Plan, LIC 9148 Earthquake Preparedness, Car Seat poster.
The facility has sufficient mats for napping. Each mat is occupied by only one child at time. LPAs reviewed a sample of children’s files and observed files were complete. Current CPR, Pediatric First Aid (Director's completed on 08/14/2023), and Mandated Reporter Training certificates ( Director's completed on 01/31/2023) were observed to be current. The name of the child care center director or fully qualified teacher designated to act in the director’s absence has been reported to the Department. LPAs reviewed a sample of staff files and observed one staff missing proof of immunization against measles and pertussis.
