On 03/10/2020 at 09:41 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Karren Starks made an unannounced visit for the purpose of conducting an Annual inspection. At 10:00am, LPA met with Site Supervisor, Martha Perez. At 10:02am, LPA and Site Supervisor toured the facility. LPA observed proper teacher/child ratios in the classrooms inspected..

The facility serves preschool age, infant/toddler and school age programs; This is a preschool program consists of State Preschool, Head Start and General Child Care serving all full day session.

During this inspection, LPA observed a working telephone on the premises, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Furniture and equipment was inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. Napping equipment was observed to be in good condition. Adequate storage for children's belongings, bathroom facilities, and a separate area for isolation and care of ill children located in the office area. Drinking water is made readily available. Trash cans with tight fitting lids were observed. Documentation of current Fire/Earthquake disaster drill was observed on a monthly. Emergency disaster plan is updated and reflects the current operation. Complete First Aid Kits were observed as well as Fully charged Fire Extinguishers. Operable Smoke and Carbon monoxide detectors were also observed. Sign in/out were observed and did match the cenus. A review of medication policy, including properly labeled and stored in original container. There is one child that requires Incidental Medical Services (IMS), documentation was observed. .

LPA observed the required postings including Safe Sleep information. Per the Site Supervisor parents were given a flyer regarding Lead Exposure with the parents returning the receipt and a copy placed in the child's file. Also observed were the Menu, and Activity Schedule. The facility obtained current pediatric CPR and First Aid for all facility staff members. Children and staff records were reviewed.

The kitchen preparation area was inspected. The area is made inaccessible by a pony door. The food is delivered to the facility from a central kitchen. Proper refrigeration and storage of food items was observed. There were no detergents, toxins or cleaning compounds being stored with the children's utensils. The water temperature for the kitchen area was proper with a sufficient supply of food observed. Allergy list posted in the kitchen and each classroom.

The outdoor area which is gated was inspected. LPA observed age appropriate toys and an activity apparatus with proper cushioning beneath. There was an area for shade and water is made readily available. There were no hazards, debris nor bodies of water observed at the time of inspection.

Senate Bill (SB) 792: This bill, commencing September 1, 2016, prohibits a person from being employed or volunteering at a child care facility or family day care if he or she has not been immunized against influenza, pertussis and measles.

Licensee was made aware of The Child Care Advocate Program (CCAP) that is administered from within the Community Care Licensing Division. CCAP participates in many community activities and special projects in order to disseminate information on the State’s licensing role, provide information to the public and parents on child care licensing, and provide many other helpful resources to the licensees and the public.
