25 | This was a case management inspection conducted by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ariel Cazares, due to COVID-19 and precautionary measures. This case management inspection was conducted with Director Kristy Knight via a tele-inspection by use of FaceTime for the purpose of inspecting additional areas to be added to the current licensed facility.
At 10:02am LPA was guided through a tour of the facility. The facility is currently operating and children were on site. Director guided LPA through each classroom and a census was taken. LPA observed a total of 19 preschool children and 5 staff. LPA was also taken on tour of the the outdoor playgrounds, and the 2 additional classrooms on the second floor to be added to the license. These classrooms are proposed to be used for the purposes of complying with orders related to social distancing. The facility is not increasing their capacity and will continue to operate within capacity limits and conditions. There is appropriate furniture that will be used and set up in the room, as well as play equipment for children’s. There are restrooms in the hallway near the classrooms. There is an emergency exit from the second floor leading directly outdoors. The carbon monoxide detector in one of the classrooms was tested by director and the alarm sounded determining it to be functional. A fire extinguisher with a service date of 03/14/2020 was observed located in the hallway.
LPA requested a fire inspection for the facility. Contact with the director of the facility by the fire department is pending. The request to add the two classrooms on the second floor is pending a fire clearance prior to approval.
Exit interview was conducted with Director Kristy Knight via tele-inspection. This report along with a copy of the appeal rights will be sent to the director via email with a read receipt or confirmation of receipt of email, which will act as the Applicants/Licensee’s signature. A copy of the signed report will also be sent to the Department. |
