25 | An unannounced Required One Year Inspection was conducted by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) A. Lucero. LPA met with licensee Nadine McGuire who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. This is a single story, three bedroom, two bathroom home. Adults residing in the home were discussed and noted. Present at the time of inspection was Licensee's mother who was not providing care and supervision to children in care. LPA observed two children in care at time of inspection.
Per Licensee areas accessible to children were inspected as follows: living room, den area that has been converted into a day care play area, hallway, licensee's master bedroom, hallway bathroom, kitchen, and back yard. Per licensee, areas off limits include: front and middle bedrooms, licensee's master bathroom, detached garage.
Licensee states that there are no weapons or firearms on the premises. LPA did observe a small children's swimming pool in the back yard. There were no children present in the back yard and licensee emptied out the small swimming pool of all water and flipped the small pool upside down. There were no children present . The backyard is adequately fenced. There are age appropriate toys and equipment on the premises. Smoke detectors are present in the home and are operable. Carbon monoxide detectors were not present as licensee had recently purchased brand new detectors and assumed they were dual. Discussions were held with licensee regarding swimming pool safety and carbon monoxide detectors. Technical Violations were issued.
Records review was conducted at around 1:30pm. LPA determined that the CPR/First Aid certificate provided is not an issued card. LPA also determined that there are no EMSA certified stickers. This is a potential risk to children in care. Child Care Roster and Disaster Plan need to be updated. Children's Records were reviewed and discussed. Required licensing forms were discussed as well as mandated child abuse reporting and criminal record clearance requirement. |
