25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jeanette Estrada conducted an unannounced required 1 year inspection at the above facility. LPA met with the Licensee Nadine Mcguire and informed her of the purpose for the visit. Licensee was provided a copy of the Facility Entrance Checklist. There were two children and one additional adult present upon arrival. The facility was in compliance for a large family child care home. All adults present have a criminal record clearance. The facility provides care to children ages 0 to 13 years old and it is open Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
This is a one story, 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home.
Per Licensee areas on limits to children are: The living room, gated day care area next to living room, one bedroom used for infant napping, hallway bathroom, kitchen and backyard.
Per Licensee areas off limits to children are: Two bedrooms, one bathroom in an off limits bedroom and the detached garage in the backyard.
All areas that are accessible to children were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. The following was observed and reviewed during this inspection: LPA observed required posted documentation- Facility license, Publication (PUB) 394- Notification of Parent Rights and Licensing Form (LIC) 9148- Earthquake Preparedness form. LPA observed and reviewed a current roster LIC 9040. LPA reviewed the disaster drill log. The last documented drill was conducted on 6/15/23. LPA observed a 2A10BC Fire Extinguisher in the facility which indicated full and was last serviced in August 2023. LPA observed an operable carbon monoxide/smoke detector in the facility. The home maintains telephone service (cell phone and landline). Food is provided by Licensee. Licensee was reminded if children bring food from home, it must be labeled with the child’s name and properly stored or refrigerated. There are toys and other age appropriate materials available for children to use in the day care room. Sharp objects, detergents and cleaning compounds were inaccessible to children in care. Knives and sharp objects are kept on a far corner of the kitchen counter, cleaning products are kept in an upper kitchen cabinet, laundry detergent is kept in the detached garage (kept locked) and personal medicine is kept in an upper cabinet in the kitchen. Per Licensee, none of the children enrolled require medication. |
