25 | About 8:45AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) T. Tran arrived at Ramona School to conduct a case management inspection for the purpose of modification of the facility program by adding the toddler option attach to the preschool program. About 9:00AM, LPA met with Marisol Martinez, Assistant Director. The facility is currently operating with the capacity of 375 preschool children. The facility is requesting to reduce the capacity of preschool to 341 children in room 11 and 12 by adding the toddler option with the capacity of 16 toddlers. Fire clearance granted and obtained preschool/toddler option. The hours of operation from 7:55 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The facility had sufficient indoor, outdoor space with toilets and sinks to accommodate the 341 preschoolers and 16 toddlers for the total capacity of 357 children.
This is a Head Starts/State Preschool facility. The facility is serving breakfast, lunch and snack. Food will be delivered daily from the central kitchen ready to serve. During this inspection, LPA inspected furniture to be age appropriate. The napping equipment were in new condition. Toddler classroom had changing table with an arm reach from the sink. Children’s belongings were stored separately. Isolation area met regulation requirement. The facility has total of 4 outdoor play yards to accommodate both programs. Drinking water was available in classrooms and the outdoor play area. Serviced fire extinguishers, smoke detectors/carbon monoxide detectors were observed. All required posting observed.
LPA reviewed and obtained the facility current/updated Personnel Record (LIC 500). LPA reviewed facility's sketch which matched the physical plant of the facility. Copy of updated Parent Handbook was reviewed. Facility was in compliance with Title 22 regulations during today's inspection.
No deficiency was cited during today's visit. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
