On 03/14/2024, about 9:15, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) T. Tran conducted an unannounced case management inspection at Ramona School. Upon arrival, LPA met with Assistant Director, Amie Wilson-Bird, and we toured the facility.

The purpose of today's inspection was to go over the water lead test results received on 10/14/22. Results show that three water sources had action level exceedance of lead. The water faucet located in the kitchen for the food prep, art studio drinking fountain, and room 41 faucet had lead exceedance result of at least 6 ppb and greater. LPA observed that all three outlets had been replaced with new fixture.

LPA spoke with facility representative who stated the areas that were identified with lead exceedance are off-limit to children in care. Room 41 faucet was taped and blocked. Water jug and paper cups were provided to children while pending for repair. All food items were prepared off site at central kitchen and delivered daily to the facility ready to serve. A deficiency was cited to ensure that the water sources noted will not be used as a drinking source or food preparation source for the children.

The deficiency listed on the following page were observed by the LPA and is being cited in accordance with California Code of Regulations Title 22. Please see attached. LIC 809-D. The deficiency that is being cited needs to be cleared to protect the children’s health & safety. Record review indicated last retesting completed on 4/27/23. Citation was cleared during today's visit.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the facility representative, Amie Wilson-Bird.
