25 | On November 6, 2024, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Priscilla Ochoa and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Ana Chico conducted an unannounced case management inspection for the above facility. LPA was greeted by Business Manager, Elodia Chavez. Director, Adela Munoz also joined the inspection and guided LPA and LPM on a tour of the facility. The purpose of this inspection is to measure the facilities play yard to ensure they are meeting Title 22 regulation, as they have requested a waiver to share the same play yard with the elementary school on campus. Per Director there are 54 children enrolled in the program. LPA observed 51 children in care.
LPA and LPM measured the play structure that is located on the side of the facility with the apparatus. LPA observed the play structure to be age-appropriate for children in care. The equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. All areas around or under high climbing equipment, swings, slides, and similar equipment are cushioned with material that absorbs a fall. The facility is also utilizing a hardtop that is adjacent to the apparatus, which provides additional ample space to the play yard. There is adequate shade in the play yard along with water source for children in care..
Based on observations, the facility’s play yard measurements meet Title 22 regulation requirements for the capacity of 87 children in care. A shared use waiver will be granted and mailed. Facility representative understands that the children from the elementary school and preschool must not commingle at any time. There are no deficiencies being cited at this time.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days during facility’s hours of operation. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
An exit interview was conducted, and a copy of this report was provided, along with appeal rights to Director, Adela Munoz.
