25 | An unannounced Annual Required inspection was conducted by Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Thelma Razo and Ariel Cazares. LPAs met with designated facility Director, Laura Zepeda who guided LPAs on a tour of the facility. Facility is licensed for 85 preschool and prefers to serve children ages 2 through 5 years. Hours of operation is from Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM. Per Director, there are currently 39 children enrolled.
PHYSICAL PLANT:
All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. LPAs observed all posting requirements for operation are prominently placed in a prominent, publicly accessible location in the center which includes but not limited to LIC 203A - License, LIC 610 A - Emergency Disaster Plan, LIC 9148 - Earthquake Preparedness Check List, PUB 394 -Notification of parent’s rights poster, LIC 613A - Personal Rights, PUB 269 - Child Car Seat Law, AM and PM snack menus and lunch that is at least one week in advance, and Activity Schedule.
Carbon monoxide detectors and smoke detectors are present and in operable condition. Combination detector in kitchen was tested. Fire extinguishers have been serviced in April 2019. First Aid supplies were available. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and other items that are dangerous to children were inaccessible. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Napping equipment and bedding were inspected for good condition, appropriate storage and cleanliness. Storage for children's belongings was inspected. LPA observed children's cubbies. The Director's office is being used as isolation area for ill children. There is a napping cot available for an ill child. The staff restroom will used by ill children. All toilets and hand washing sinks are safe, sanitary and are operational. All kitchen areas/food preparation areas and food storage areas are kept clean and are free of litter. Trash cans used to discard food have tight fitting lids. Drinking fountains are available indoors and outdoors.
