25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) T. Tran arrived at the above licensed facility to conduct a required inspection. About 8:30AM, LPA met with licensee Blanca Phornsutiphajit and observed three children in care. About 8:55 A.M. we toured the accessible areas of the home. LPA observed proper care and supervision of children and ratios.
LPA observed the hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, and gloves accessible in the home. The current hours of operation are from 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Monday through Friday. This is a single dwelling home consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room/dinning room, a kitchen, a detached garage. Childcare conducted in family room and one bedroom for napping. Children do not have access to the kitchen area and two bedrooms. LPA did not observe a safety gate to make the kitchen inaccessible to children in care. During the inspection, kitchen cabinets observed with the safety latched, no sharp objects accessible to children in care. Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limit areas. The enclosed backyard observed to be clean with some outdoor equipment available for children. Per licensee, they had removed an additional room located in the backyard of the home which made the backyard an open space. LPA advised licensee to update the outdoor facility sketch and submit to the department by 4/8/22 for the record.
LPA observed all posting requirements accessible to all parents. Licensee had current CPR/First Aid certificates (Exp. 4/2023), fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide and smoke detector meet regulations. Cleaning materials and medications are inaccessible, Licensee stated there are no firearms in the home. The home conducted emergency disaster drill once every six month. Children’s records were reviewed and completed.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department.
