Meals are brought in from the school cafeteria in containers to ensure freshness. Kitchen has a refrigerator to keep perishable items such as milk. Food waste stored in a trash can with a tight fitting lid.
Head Start uses the Kindergarten play yard under the conditions of a waiver. Walkway and yard are fenced. Staff escort children to and from the yard. Play structure is age appropriate. Balls and other toys are available for play. Water pitcher and disposable cups are brought out making water available to children.
Staff records reviewed and current certification in pediatric CPR and First Aid. Staff have completed the Mandated Reporter Training. Certificate in file. Random sampling of children's files contains emergency information on children. Required forms are posted: License, Personal rights, Parents Rights poster for Centers, Car Seat Law, and Emergency Disaster Plan and menus.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records.
