An Annual Random inspection was conducted by Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Timothy Fields and Katrina Chicote. Analysts met with Program Director Jamie Briseno and Administer April Stover and was guided on a complete tour of the facility. Operating hours are 2pm - 6:30pm Monday - Friday. On days there is no school, operation hours are 8:30am - 5:30pm Monday - Friday.

Inspection was conducted during non-operating hours. There were no children or staff present during the inspection. First Aid kit was inventoried and there was sufficient supplies for children in care. Medication is administered to children in care. The office is utilized as an isolated area for sick children. Afternoon snacks are provided.

Analysts observed a licensed Adult Program on-site. Per administer the Adult Program operates 8:30am - 1:30pm Monday - Friday. The classroom used by the Adult program is also accessible to the After School program from 2:00pm - 6:30pm. The Adult program and After School program also occupy the weight room at those designated times as well. Administer was advised a waiver maybe required.

The main school age classroom, weight room, and Adult program classroom was inspected for cleanliness and good repair. Analysts observed age appropriate equipment. Lighting was in operable condition. There is a source of drinking water adjacent to the classroom. LPA advised staff to have a source of drinking water inside the classroom. Individual storage for children was observed.

Items are placed on hook inside the main classroom. There is a computer room adjacent to the classroom that was appropriate for use. The food storage room is also accessible from the main classroom. Food was refrigerated and observed to be in good quality. The restroom was clean and in operable condition.

Outdoor area and equipment was inspected for safety, cushioning material, good repair and age appropriateness. Required shade and fencing were inspected. Play area was inspected for hazards and inaccessibility to bodies of water. Analysts inspection two separate playgrounds. There is an enclosed swimming pool on-site. The swimming pool is housed inside a building inaccessible from outdoor activity space.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. Staff and children records were not reviewed due to inspection being conducted during non-operating hours. Review of required forms was made along with the snack menu.

After a complete inspection of the facility, the following deficiencies were observed according to California Code of Regulations Title 22 Division 12 during today's visit as indicated on the 809D

  1. Analyst observed miscellaneous items such as large drums, wooden planks, and unusable equipment stored behind the detached shed adjacent to the garden.

Exit interview conducted with administrator. Appeal Rights provided and explained. Notice of Site Visit must be posted for (30) days. Failure to do so may result in a $100.00 civil penalty.
