25 | An Increased inspection was conducted Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Timothy Fields and Dayna Chambers. Licensing staff met with Lisa Clinton who guided staff on a tour of the facility. All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. The facility was inspected for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children.
Four classrooms are used to operate the preschool program. Analysts learned children bring lunches from home. Snacks are provided by the facility along with parent contributions. Medications is administered to children in care and is stored in the facility's office. Children are isolated in office when observed to be sick. Cots are used for napping and a restroom is accessible to the child.
Each classroom were observed to be within ratio. Upon inspection 14 napping children were supervised by two teachers in classroom #2 and one teacher was supervising 14 napping children in classroom #3. There were no children present in classrooms #4 and #5.
Each classroom was inspected for cleanliness and good repair. LPA observed age appropriate toys and equipment. Lighting was in operable condition. Cots were in use during the inspection. Changing tables were within arms reach of sinks. Carpets were sufficient for use. First aid kits were inventoried and children's individual storage space has been inspected. Sign in/out sheets have been reviewed.
Playground is adequately fenced. There was no swimming pool, spa or other bodies of water observed on the premises. There is a drinking fountain adjacent to the playground used by children in care. The snacks and lunches are stored in each classroom. Transportation is not provided.
