32 | All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. Floors in the facility are clean and safe. LPAs Castellanos and Richmond inspected the classrooms and observed age-appropriate toys, books and furnishings. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Playground equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. Areas around high climbing equipment, swings and slides have cushioning material to absorb falls.
LPAs reminded Director that any areas designated as OFF-LIMITS should be made inaccessible during the hours of operation and/or while children are present. Facility shall ensure the inaccessibility to areas (Elementary Grounds) not licensed by CDSS.
LPA Castellanos and Richmond conducted a Health and Safety inspection of the kitchenette, and all storage areas are clean, free of litter/rubbish and free of rodents/vermin. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair. Director confirmed that the facility does not provide meals or snacks, only filtered water. Per Director parents assure they provide the meals and snacks for their children, which comply with dietary restrictions and allergies. LPA discussed the importance of maintaining a system where allergies and food restrictions are noted.
LPAs Castellanos and Richmond reviewed 10 children’s files and observed files to be in compliance including current contact information for authorized representatives and/or relatives who can assume responsibility for the child, immunization records, and authorization for medical treatment.
LPAs Castellanos and Richmond reviewed 7 personnel files and observed files to be in compliance with current CPR/First Aid and Mandated Reporter Training. Immunizations Records for personnel in childcare are missing 7 out of 7 Flu(Influenza) vaccine/declinations, which can potentially pose health, safety, or personal rights risk to children in care.
CCC COMPLETED TESTING AND HAS REMEDIATING LEAD EXCEEDANCES. LPA Castellanos and Richmond verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance with Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP.
Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center.
