25 | On 2/27/2020, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Helen Estrella conducted an unannounced 1-year required visit to the center. LPA met with the Director Dorian Theberge and informed the nature of the visit. LPA was guided on a tour of the facility. LPA confirmed with the Director that all adults obtained a criminal record clearance and/or exemption.
Main care is provided in one central classroom in the lower level, near the parking lot. There were a total of (26) children being supervised by (5) staff and the Director. All areas of the facility sketch were inspected. There is a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, smoke and carbon monoxide detector. Age appropriate sink and toilets available for total census of children. There are sufficient learning materials and play equipment for children in care. Napping equipment and bedding was observed in good condition, and stored appropriately. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Availability of drinking water was reviewed. Fully equipped First Aid supplies was observed . Medication policy, including administering, labeling storage, and records was observed in the Director's office. License, parents rights, personal rights, and emergency disaster are posted. Staff has current CPR and 1st Aid certificates valid through 8/2021. Food preparation areas were toured for safety, cleanliness and proper equipment. A review of cleaning and food supply storage areas was made.
LPAs observed outdoor play space. Climbing equipment, swings, slides and other play equipment appears age appropriate and in good repair. There is adequate shading and drinking water available outside. Playground appeared free of miscellaneous debris. There are no bodies of water present at the facility.
