25 | Licensing Program Analyst Warren Birks conducted a Case Management inspection to provide technical assistance (indoor measuring) and observing an empty classroom (A103) that is temporarily not in use (at this time). LPA met with Director Melissa Clayton who provided LPA with a tour of the facility.
LPA measured total space of six classrooms and encumbered space (space not included such storage cabinets). LPA concluded that the classrooms minus the encumbered space can accommodate more children than the capacity listed on the license. However, based on initial 11/20/2020 measurements, the outdoor space limits the capacity to 75. LPA recommended Director Melissa Clayton request a waiver for staggered play if the facility wishes to accommodate more than 75 children.
LPA also informed Director that today's inspection is an assumption based on current observations. It is possible that the room capacity numbers may change (up or down) depending on how classrooms are rearranged.
Director Clayton indicated she will contact LPA Birks at a later date if the facility chooses to request a waiver for staggered play.
Note: Director Clayton is communications with the board in regards to the direction for the use of the empty class. She will inform LPA regarding class (A103) at a later date.
Exit interview was conducted with Director Melissa Clayton. The Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) – must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site inspection by a licensing representative. Failure to maintain posting as will result in a $100 civil penalty. |
