25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Alicia Mooberry conducted an unannounced case management inspection on 9/30/2022. LPA Mooberry arrived at the facility at 10:00am and met with Ferman Alisea, teacher, who was informed of the purpose of this inspection. LPA was provided a tour of the facility. There were 61 children and 7 staff present during this inspection.
Facility Director April Behrendt arrived at the facility at 10:30, LPA discuss with the facility water lead test results received on 8/17/22. Results show that a water source in the facility had Action Level Exceedance (ALE) of lead. The hose faucet (spigot) located in the preschool playground had a lead result of 13 parts per billion (ppb). A result with values of 5.5 parts per billion (ppb) or greater shall be deemed an Action Level Exceedance in accordance with the Lead Testing Written Directives section 101700.3 subsection (b)(1).
Per Director, the hose faucet (spigot) has not been used nor will it be used in the future for drinking water or food preparation. The facility offers filtered water that is delivered that is used for drinking. Per director the children can bring their water bottles which they can fill up with the filtered water. The facility does not prepare meals, children bring their own lunch from home. LPA observed a water dispensers in each classroom and in the office. LPA observed children's lunch boxes in their cubbies and water bottles. No deficiencies are cited on this date.
LPA took photo of hose faucet (spigot) in the preschool play yard. A copy of the test results were provided by facility.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Facility Representative April Behrendt. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
