32 | Monthly menus are posted in the classroom. Per staff, breakfast and lunch food service is provided by school. LPAs observed school kitchen and cafeteria. All kitchen, food preparation, and storage areas are clean, free of litter, rubbish, and rodents/vermin. All food is protected from contamination. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins, have tight fitting covers on and are in good repair.
Outdoor playground equipment is in a safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. There is adequate shade in the play yard. LPAs advised that no children shall be left without the supervision of a teacher at any time. All floors were observed to be clean and safe. All materials accessible to children were observed to be toxic free. There are no firearms stored on the premises. There are no pools or bodies of water at the facility.
Per children’s record review, LPAs observed 6 children’s files that all children’s files are maintained and updated and include the following documents: Admission Agreement, LIC 700- Identification and Emergency Information, LIC 627- Consent for Medical Treatment, LIC 995A Notification of Parents’ Rights, LIC 613-Personal Rights, LIC 702-Health History, and LIC 701 Physicians Report, and Immunization Records.
Complete staff record review regarding the following documentation: mandated reporter certificate, LIC-501: Personnel Record, LIC 9052- Employee Rights, LIC 503- Health Screening, Proof of immunization against measles, pertussis and influenza or influenza declination, TB clearance, and LIC 9108- Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuseto be completed at Early Childhood Education-State Preschool Office.
LPAs informed staff that at least one person trained in CPR and Pediatric First Aid is present when children are at the facility or at offsite activities. Per record review, LPAs observed that teacher’s assistant, Maria Sanchez, has updated CPR and first aid certificate with expiration of 3/24/2025. LPAs advised director that the name of the child care center director or fully-qualified teacher(s) designated to act in the director’s absence has been reported to the Department. The person who signs the child in/out of the facility shall use their full legal signature and record the time of day.
Teacher staff was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. |
