On 04/20/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Adrian Risher conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection for the preschool license. LPA met with Director, Juli Beck, and toured the facility indoors and outdoors. Days and hours of operation are Monday to Friday 7:30am to 5:55pm. LPA observed 20 preschoolers with 4 staff. LPA confirmed the facility phone number:310 376 7088

LPA toured the inside and outside of the facility. The facility has 3 classrooms. LPA observed designated cubbies in the classroom. LPA observed age appropriate equipment in each classroom. LPA observed furniture and equipment are in good condition.

LPA inspected the bathroom and observed all equipment operating properly. LPA inspected the kitchen. Director stated the children bring their own lunch to the facility. The facility provides snacks to the children. Menus are posted on the parent board.

LPA observed proper sign in/out documentation.

LPA observed cots that are used for napping.

There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. All poisons are kept in a locked storage area.

Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. LPA observed age-appropriate play equipment in the outside play area.

LPA observed carbon monoxide and smoke detectors throughout the facility. LPA observed fire extinguishers and first aid kits with a thermometer.

LPA completed file reviews for children and staff. Children and staff files were complete. LPA observed more than one staff with current cpr and pediatric first aid certification.

No deficiencies are cited.

Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with facility representative and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed facility representative of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days.
